Jayne McQueen

Jayne McQueen of Spartanburg, South Carolina, for going above and beyond for the past thirty years as an advocate for the frail and homebound citizens within the Spartanburg community. McQueen founded “Mobile Meals of Spartanburg” in 1977 with a few volunteers and served meals to 25 recipients each weekday. Today, under her unwavering leadership and vision, “Mobile Meals” serves nearly 2,000 meals each weekday, has more than 150 volunteers, and operates solely through private contributions. McQueen’s holistic approach reduces nursing home care by enabling the recipient to maintain a quality of life in their home rather than living within a facility.
