John Randall

John Randall of Coventry, Rhode Island, for going above and beyond his duty as a police patrolman with his heroic rescue of two people from a burning house. On November 16, 2007, Randall was dispatched to a house fire where two people were said to be trapped inside. With complete disregard for his own safely, he kicked open the locked front door and ran inside the house where flames were visible. Through dense smoke, Randall dragged a man out of the house to safety before running back inside, breaking a window and pulling out a partially collapsed woman who had been trapped. Randall also pulled the couple’s dog, Sabrina, through the window, saving her life as well.
