Jay Davidson
Jay Davidson of Louisville, Kentucky, for going above and beyond in helping those with substance abuse problems. Davidson spent 20 years in the U.S. Army and retired in 1986. In 1991, Davidson founded “The Healing Place,” which has become the flagship recovery program in Kentucky for homeless alcoholics and addicts. Davidson is the visionary behind developing this regionally and nationally acclaimed program, renowned for its success (65 percent recovery rate). As a recovering alcoholic himself, Davidson has never lost sight of his own sobriety and knows the name of all 2,300 people who have finished the program.
