Douglas Crawford

Douglas Crawford of Ashford, Alabama, for going above and beyond with his brave rescue of a fellow truck driver. While traveling on Interstate 85 inAugust 2005, Crawford witnessed a horrific accident between an 18-wheeler truck and another tractor. After dodging out-of-control cars, Crawford parked on the side of the road and ran to the scene. He found a conscious but immobile Herman Langford covered in fuel and trapped in his burning truck. Crawford wrapped Langford’s arms around his neck and pulled him free just moments before the truck exploded. Had it not been for Crawford’s quick actions Langford would have lost his life
